Decaffeinated Coffee

Decaf coffee is one of the main ingredients of Javazen Relax

What is Decaf Coffee?

Decaffeinated coffee, otherwise knows as ‘decaf’, is coffee extracted from coffee beans that have had the majority of its caffeine content removed. Before being roasted and ground, the caffeine is extracted from the coffee beans so as to minimize residual caffeine during roasting. There are several caffeine extraction methods but no method is completely full-proof.

One of the most common methods involves placing the unroasted coffee beans in a carbon dioxide pressurized capsule which acts as a solvent to remove the caffeine. Here at Javazen, we use an organic and natural water process that does not involve and chemicals or synthetic compounds.

Where is Decaf Coffee from?

Any coffee beans can become decaffeinated coffee with the process described above.

Although the majority of coffee drinkers consume caffeinated coffee, decaf coffee still has its followers. The bulk of the coffee shops around the world offer decaf options for those people who prefer the coffee not for its caffeine but for its taste.

While decaf coffee and caffeinated coffee differ in many ways, they share many things in common including their nutrient content and amounts of antioxidants which contribute to reduced risk for physiological illnesses. In addition, decaf coffee has similar health benefits as caffeinated coffee; however, it lacks the side-effects of the jitters and crash.

Fun Fact: Did you know that approximately 10% of coffee drinkers prefer decaf coffee over caffeinated coffee?
