Lucuma gives Javazen Relax blend subtle sweetness without calories.

What is Lucuma?

Lucuma is a Peruvian fruit widely consumed across the world. It was first discovered by the Incas and was referred to as the “Gold of the Incas” for its symbol of fertility and nutrients.

When you first take a look at a lucuma fruit, you might think it is an avocado. However, surprisingly, it is not! Lucumas are about the same size, shape, and color on the outside as an avocado. Lucuma is sweet and dry.

Lucuma has been revered for centuries to promote optimal health. With a distinctly maple-like flavor, the dry and starchy fruit, which is often grounded up into a fine, yellow powder, has a low glycemic index, high amounts of beta-carotene as well as vitamin B3 and iron. The beta-carotene is excellent for the health of both our eyes and skin, while vitamin B3 is essential for energy production. Iron is, at its heart, a transporter of oxygen throughout the body–an essential for the health of our cells.

Why do we use Lucuma in Javazen?

Here at Javazen, we believe avoiding the typical overdose on sugar is an integral part of our health in order to live a balanced, zen-ful life. Too much sugar can make us feel as if we are riding a perpetual roller coaster–feeling high as a kite one minute and down in the grumpy dumps the next. For this reason, we want to introduce you to lucuma powder. Lucuma powder is found in Javazen Relax in synergy with goji berries and vanilla to provide a mildly sweet taste for our evening dessert-like coffee drink.
