Matcha Green Tea

Matcha is one of the key ingredients of our Javazen Balance blend

What is matcha green tea?

Matcha green is very simply green tea leaves that have been ground into a fine, green powder. Matcha has traditionally been used as a ceremonial element in sacred celebrations by the Japanese. Matcha has been gaining in popularity in recent years due to its immense nutritional advantages over traditionally steeped green tea.

Matcha has been gaining in popularity in recent years due to its immense nutritional advantages over traditionally steeped green tea. By ingesting the whole leaf (in powder form) matcha drinkers get a dose of caffeine up to double that of steeped tea.

Why do we use matcha?

Compared to plain coffee, which often gives the jitters, matcha helps to balance your energy and put you in a "zen", focused, and relaxed state of mind. This is due to amino acids like L-theanine which are found in green tea leaves. These amino acids help your body to intake and process caffeine in a slower, more regulated manner.

Our matcha is registered as ceremonial-grade and thus shaded from the sun which gives the tea a pure flavor, pigment, and the texture of the powder.

Fun fact: Did you know that one cup of Matcha has more antioxidants than a dozen cups of green tea?
